TiA Winners Announced Home Textiles Today is pleased to announce the winners of the seventh semi-annual Textiles Industry Award (TiA) competition — a salute to chosen design leaders who exhibited their products at the recent New York market — sponsored by Trendease International. More than 5,000 votes were cast by members of the home textiles industry — designers and product developers, manufacturers, distributors and retailers — during the online voting period to determine the following winners among all the producers of new, trend-right home textiles products.

Tencel Lyocell is made from Eucalyptus trees harvested using sustainable practices and produced in a ‘closed loop’ spinning process recovering and recycling 99.5% of solvent. Tencel is 100% biodegradable.
Natural Evolution 'Green is the new black' – figuratively and literally. More and more, home owners are discovering ways to be more eco-conscious. We, as textile designers can make a difference – by making it easier to be environmentally friendly. Using fabrics that are natural, using fills that are sustainable, and by using recycled materials in packaging – we can make availability the difference. DOWNLITE can outfit the Eco-savvy consumer with luxury. We selected Tencel® Lyocell as our fill and fabric of choice. Tencel® is made from the cellulose in the wood pulp of Eucalyptus trees, which are harvested from tree farms using sustainable practices. The fiber is produced via an advanced 'closed loop' solvent spinning process, with minimal impact on the environment and economical use of energy and water. The solvent used in the process is 99.5% is recovered and continually recycled. The surface fibers of standard Tencel® are fibrillated to produce a luxurious, soft-touch fabric with a peach skin surface. Inherently Bacteriostatic, Tencel has no chemicals added to make it an excellent allergy friendly choice. Environmentally sound, Tencel® is 100% biodegradable. In selecting the fills and fabrics for our Natural Evolution bed, many choices were considered. Ecospun® , Organic Cotton, Ingeo – to name few. We selected Tencel® for it's luxurious feel, sustainable qualities, machine wash ability and immediate available supply. To enforce the 'natural story' DOWNLITE designed an exclusive basket weave pattern that is naturally ... beautiful.
